Dear Friends,
I am a new member, and my fiancee, Marivie, is a Philippine lady, who
lives in Daraga, Albay. We plan on being married in 2009, and live in
Canada for awhile and then in the Philippines. I am a Canadian
citizen and have lived all my life in Canada. I presently have a
heart condition, that prevents me from travelling to the Philippines
to meet Marivie, so she is trying to come to Canada. We thought of
using either a work visa or financee visa, but not certain which is
easiest to use, as there appears to be so many government rules
required. We have never met in person yet. Any advice will be greatly
appreciated. Marivie is a school teacher, having worked for 10 years
in Manila and 3 years at a university in China. She is presently
enrolled in a 6-month Canadian Caregiver Course, in the Philippines,
so that she will be qualified to work in Canada as a Caregiver, to
begin with. I am retired, age 65, and have a modest pension from work
and my government pension. Marivie would like to be able to come to
Canada to be with me this year, if she can obtain a needed visa.
Yours truly,
Robert
