[LinP3] Re: Bargain airfare USA to Philippines

Those prices do not strike me as a bargain, $550 one way to Manila from LAX seems to be a lot. I fly out of Chicago which usually is at least $200 more than flights from LAX on round trips. I just paid $980 round trip total cost for 6 month open ended ticked leaving Feb 12Th and could have gotten it for $920 if my stay was under 2 months.

From my experience those travel web sites have NEVER beaten pricing from a good travel agent/ ticket consolidator.

Subject: [LinP3] Bargain airfare USA to Philippines

If there is anybody on this list in the USA and wanting to come to the
Philippines this might interest you. I used to work for a couple of
different airlines and dealt with international fares and tickets. I
still play around and look for bargains just for the fun of it.

January is usually a good time to get bargain seats since most folks
travel in the previous two months if they are going to travel. So in
January the airlines will offer bargains to just fill up the planes
that would otherwise go out with empty seats.

If you go to travelocity. com or orbitz.com and book a one way flight
from LAX to TPE (Taipei, Taiwan) on January 16 you'll find a Malaysia
Air ticket available for only US$443 including taxes (US$453 on
travelocity) . The flight arrives in TPE at 6:10 am on the 18th. Next
step is to book online at www.cebupacificair. com for 18 January TPE
flight to Manila. Cost is 2444 Taiwan dollars or about US$75 and
leaves 1:55pm that same day, the 18th. Not a bad connection.

When you arrive in the Philippines you'll need an onward ticket to any
other destination. Just go back to cebupacificair. com (or
www.tigerairways. com or airasia.com: these are great because they fly
out of Clark) and book a flight out to any regional destination, like
Singapore or Kuala Lumpur or Hong Kong or Taipei. Just book the flight
ten months or so from now. If you actually use the ticket, fine. If
not, that's okay too since the price is so cheap it's a throw away
ticket. That will satisfy immigration when you come in to the Philippines.

These will be electronic tickets, booked online with your credit card.
All you have to do is print up the receipt the airlines send you by
email. Note that if you go to Malaysia Air's website you won't get the
same fare. This must be a special deal they worked up with Orbitz and
Travelocity for sales only on their websites.
